How to Change the Printer Driver in Windows 7

1. Click the 'Start' menu button or press the 'Windows' key to open the Start Menu. Type 'Device Manager' into the search bar and click on the 'Device Manager' entry when it appears.
2. Locate your printer within Device Manager list. Click the arrows next to headings to expand them. The printer may appear under 'Other Devices' or 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers.' Right-click on your printer's entry and click 'Properties.'
3. Click the 'Driver' tab, then click 'Update Driver.' If you wish to roll back to a previous driver, click the 'Uninstall' button instead. This uninstalls the current driver software, and may require you to restart your computer. After restarting, return to the printer properties screen in Device Manager.
4. Choose to search automatically if you want Windows to search for and download the driver updates. Do not choose this option if you're rolling back to prior driver software.
5. Choose to install the driver from your computer if you have a disc containing the driver, or have downloaded the file from your printer's manufacturer. Click 'Browse' to locate the driver file on your computer. Double-click the file to open it, then click the 'Next' button. Click 'Close 'after Windows installs the driver update or rolls back the driver.
