2. Find the make and model of your printer, and write this information down on a piece of paper along with the cartridge numbers. Replace the cartridge temporarily.
3. Bring the paper to your local office-supply store. You will almost certainly purchase the correct cartridge if you are able to tell them the model number you have.
4. Remove the packaging at your home or office, carefully following any directions.
5. Pull the old cartridge-gently-out of the printer and dispose of or recycle it.
6. Place the new cartridge in, following the diagram and instructions in your owner's manual or the ones posted on the lid of the printer.
7. Print a test page to make sure the cartridge has been installed properly. If not, take the cartridge out and try again.
