Instructions for Changing the Ink Cartridge in an Epson Printer

1. Purchase the replacement cartridges compatible with your printer. You can use the old ink label to find out which ink the printer takes, or know your model number when you go to the store to locate the ink.
2. Turn the printer on and locate 'Setup.' Set-up could be an option in the menu or a stand alone button. Once you find the location, press the button or choose the option for printer set-up.
3. Choose 'Ink Levels.' This option shows you which cartridges are low. Navigate to and then choose 'Change Cartridge.'
4. Open the top of the printer or the door panel for the ink. The ink will have moved to a location where you can access it. You might need to open the gate blocking the cartridges, usually by opening a plastic panel.
5. Grip the old cartridge by the top and bottom of the visible cartridge. Use your index finger to squeeze the tab and your thumb to pull the cartridge out.
6. Unwrap the new ink from the package, including the pull label from the cartridge. Insert the new cartridge exactly where the old one was. Repeat these steps for all ink that needs to be changed.
7. Close all panels and doors. The ink will shift back into place. Navigate through the menu to choose the option to recalibrate the printer. This is also in the set-up menu. The printer will then print a test page.
