Starting Cleaning Process From the Computer
1. Turn the printer on by pushing the 'Power' button.
2. Click 'Start' from the toolbar on your computer. Select 'Control Panel' from the first list of options and then select 'Printers and Other Hardware' from the next menu. On the last menu, click on 'Printers and Faxes.' You will then be shown various icon. Select the Canon i860 icon. You will then be taken to a screen with various options related to the Canon i860.
3. Click the 'Maintenance Tab' located on the far right side of the box. Click on the cleaning icon. You will then be taken to a screen where you will be asked to select the print head to be cleaned. If only black ink is not printing correctly, select the bubble next to the black option, and the same for colored ink. If you are unsure, select the bubble next to the all colors option. Click 'Execute' to start the cleaning process.
4. Repeat the process up to three more times to remove the clog.
5. From the maintenance tab, select the 'Deep Cleaning' icon if the clog has not yet been removed. Select the bubble next to the print head to be removed, and click 'Execute' to begin the deep cleaning option. This uses even more ink than the regular cleaning method so should be used only as needed.
