How to Clean a Magicolor Printer

1. Turn the printer off, unplug the power cable and unplug all of the cables running from the printer into the computer.
2. To clean the outside of the printer, use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the outside and a Q-tip to clean the ventilation grate.
3. To clean the media feed roller, start by opening the top cover of the printer and using the handle on the top of the imaging cartridge to pull it out, which will expose the rollers. Wipe the rollers clean by using a soft, dry cloth. You can now reinsert the imaging cartridge and close the cover.
4. To clean the print head window, locate the 'rotate toner' key on the top of the printer. Hold the button for about nine seconds.
5. Open the front cover on the printer. By doing this, the magenta toner cartridge will rotate---just as it would when you replace the cartridge. Pull down the handle on the cartridge until it unlocks and moves out slightly and remove the cartridge.
6. Close the front cover, which will cause the toner cartridges to rotate again.
7. When the indicator lights on the top of the printer begin blinking, you can now open the top cover to clean the window.
8. Again remove the imaging cartridge by grabbing the handle on the top of the imaging cartridge to pull it out. Clean the print head window---located directly under where the imaging cartridge sits---by gently wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Reinsert the imaging cartridge and close the cover.
9. Press the 'clear' key located on the top of the printer. This will cause all of the indicator lights on the printer to stop blinking, and the magenta toner indicator will light up. After the toner cartridges stop rotating, open the front cover, reinsert the magenta toner cartridge and close the front cover.
