How to Connect a Wireless Printer to a 2Wire Router

1. Look at the bottom of the 2Wire router to find a sticker with bar codes on it. Copy down the serial number and system key that are printer on this sticker. The serial number will be labeled 'SN' and the system key will be a ten digit number. The system key will also have square brackets on either end of it to make it stand out.
2. Navigate through the menu on the printer to find a list of available wireless networks. This menu will vary depending on the model of your printer. Determine the wireless network name of your wireless network by concatenating '2WIRE' and the last three digits of the serial number. Select this network name from the list to begin the connection process.
3. Enter the system key from the 2Wire router when the printer prompts for it. This key is what keeps the wireless connection secure. Other users who can see your wireless network will not be able to use it without this system key. Verify that the printer acquired an IP address starting with '192.168.1' to ensure that it established the wireless connection successfully.
