1. Look on the printer. The model number of the printer should be on a silver sticker placed on the bottom of the printer or under the lid. According to Canon, the serial number is available by pressing the serial number key on the control panel to display the number you need.
2. Look on product literature. Canon’s product manuals and instruction brochures for the different types of PIXMA printers list the printer’s model number. Some product sheets—especially those shipped with the product you purchased—contain the serial number. Because the PIXMA printers have a display function that shows the serial number on the control panel, product literature does not always feature the serial number with the model number.
3. Look on purchase documentation. Receipts, invoices and shipping documents will show the model and serial number of the PIXMA printer you purchased. Retailers also frequently display the model number of the printer on sales literature or sales websites.
