How to Scan From an HP C4100

1. Turn on the Photosmart C4100. Locate the 'HP Digital Imaging Monitor' icon in the Windows system tray on the lower right-hand side of the screen. The icon appears as four white arrows converging with a superimposed green and white check mark.
2. Lift the top lid of the Photosmart C4100. Avoid lifting the scanner glass.
3. Place the image or document face-down on the scanner glass. Line the photo up with the lower right-hand corner of the scanner glass.
4. Close the Photosmart C4100 lid.
5. Press the 'Start Scan' button on the Photosmart C4100 control panel. The screen displays the name of the most recent application you used to scan an image or document.
6. Press the 'OK' button to send a copy of the image or document to the application displayed on the Photosmart C4100 screen. To send the photo to a different application, press the arrow buttons on the control panel until that application displays, and press 'OK.' Wait until the image or document appears on the computer screen.
7. Follow on-screen instructions in the HP Photosmart software to crop the image until you have highlighted the area that you want the HP C4100 to scan.
8. Click the on-screen 'Accept' button to scan the image or document.
