How to Change a Canon Pixma MX310 Cartridge (7 Steps)

1. Press the 'Power' button on the control panel to turn on the Canon Pixma printer. Lift up the scanning unit lid at the middle of the printer and pull down the plastic support bar to keep the lid held up.
2. Lift up the plastic lid at the top of the ink carriage that holds the black and color ink cartridges. The ink cartridge holder moves to the left.
3. Push down the black cartridge gently until it unlocks from the carriage. Pull the cartridge out of the printer.
4. Repeat the removal process with the color ink cartridge.
5. Pull the strip of tape off the bottom edge of the new PG-40 black cartridge and the new CL-41 color cartridge.
6. Set the new black cartridge into the left end of the ink carriage with the indented end facing you. Push the cartridge down until it locks into place. Repeat the process with the color cartridge.
7. Push the plastic lid down over the ink carriage. Move aside the plastic support bar and push the scanning lid back down into its original position.
