1. Turn on the Epson printer.
2. Press the 'Start' button if the screen shows empty cartridges.
3. Press the 'Setup/Utilities' button if the screen shows that cartridges are low. Press the arrow buttons to select the 'Change Cartridges' option. Press the 'Start' button and then press the 'Start' button again to confirm.
4. Open the lid to the printer. Flip the ink cartridge compartment lid toward you.
5. Press the tab on the back of the cartridge and lift it straight up and out of the machine.
6. Shake the new cartridge package about four or five times. Remove the cartridge from the package. Do not change the green chip.
7. Insert the cartridge straight into its compartment. Press down on the cartridge until it snaps into place. Close the compartment lid. Close the printer lid.
8. Press the 'Start' button. The 'On' light will flash as the printer charges the ink. This process takes about a minute. The 'On' button will stop flashing when the ink is charged. Do not turn off the printer during this process or it will waste ink.
