How to Reset an Ink Cartridge in an Epson CX4800 Series

1. Turn off your Epson all-in-one printer. Disconnect the USB cable that you use to connect it to your computer.
2. Press down on the following three buttons while powering ON the printer: 'Load,' 'Black Cleaning' and 'Color Cleaning.' Continue holding for approximately one second, and release.
3. Press on the 'Load' button immediately for approximately two seconds when the printer starts up.
4. Release the 'Load' button. You must complete the entire sequence (Steps 2 through 4) within three seconds. The timing is the key. You may need to try multiple attempts before you get it right. This resets your Epson all-in-one printer to its factory settings, including resetting both ink counters.
5. Press down on the 'Load/Eject' button for six seconds to pause the printer. Wait until the power light starts blinking. The printhead should move to the left, to the cartridge installation position.
6. Lift the gray clamp that holds the ink cartridges (black and color) all the way open. Then, clamp it back down to close it. Do not take out the ink cartridges.
7. Press on and release the 'Load/Eject' button to recharge the ink delivery system. This process should take about two minutes to complete and reseats both ink cartridges.
