How to Print a Paper Without Black Ink

1. Click 'Control'+'A' to select all the text in your paper ('Apple'+'A' on a Mac). Click 'Options' and 'Text color' to select a different text color. Select the darkest navy blue possible, or a dark green or brown. Blue is the safest bet and often no one will be able to tell the difference. Print the paper in one of those colors and hand it in. For a long or important paper, such as a thesis or official scientific document, you'll want to print it in black ink on a different printer.
2. Plug a flash drive into a USB port on your computer. Copy your saved document to the flash drive. Alternately, burn your document to a CD or other disc.
3. Take the flash drive or disc to a public computer at a library, coffee shop, school or your office. Open the document on a computer there and print it in black ink. You may have to pay a small fee.
4. Take the flash drive to a printing shop and print your document there. You'll probably be charged five to ten cents a page to print your document in black and white.
