1. Connect the HP printer to the wireless router with the cables provided with your printer purchase.
2. Click “Start” on your computer that is connected to the router’s network. Click “Devices and Printers” in the Start Menu to view the current printers installed to the computer.
3. Click “Add a printer” to start the printer installation wizard. Choose the option to add a network printer. Select your printer from the list of printers your computer detects within range.
4. Give Windows permission to detect and install the printer drivers for the HP printer if prompted. Insert the installation CD for your HP printer if prompted. Click “Next” when your system tells you that it has successfully installed the device drivers for the HP printer.
5. Name your HP printer something that will distinguish it from the other printers that you might install on your computer, such as “Home Office Printer.” Click “Next.”
6. Enter the sharing settings for the printer. Click “Next.” Put a check in the box to make this HP printer your default printer. Click “Finish” to close the printer installation wizard.
