How to Clean an Epson Printer Head

1. Turn on your Epson printer and load a sheet of paper into the printer.
2. Hold down the printer's ink button for three seconds. The printer's power and ink lights will begin flashing and the printer will automatically begin to clean its print heads.
3. Print a test page to verify that the cleaning procedure worked. Repeat the cleaning procedure if there are still gaps or lines in the printout.
Head Cleaning via Windows
1. Turn on your Epson printer and load a sheet of paper into the printer.
2. Right click the printer icon in the Windows taskbar and choose 'Head Cleaning' from the menu. This will open a head cleaning utility.
3. Click the 'Start' button in the program window. The Epson printer will run through a head cleaning cycle.
4. Click the 'Print Nozzle Check Pattern' once the printer's power light stops flashing. Click 'Print' again to print out a nozzle checking pattern.
5. Click 'Finish' if the gaps or lines are gone from your printout. If there are still gaps then click 'Clean' to run through the head cleaning procedure a second time.
