How to Hook Up a WiFi Printer (4 Steps)

1. Turn on the wireless printer. The printer must be on in order to be located by, and connected to, the wireless network.
2. Enter network information into the printer. WiFi printers have menus that allow for the entry of network specific information. You will need to enter the network name and password (if one is required) and choose for the router to auto-assign an IP address. The IP address is what will identify the printer from other network devices.
3. Load printer drivers on computers. Each computer that will have printing access will need to have the print drivers loaded. The drivers are stored on the installation CD's that came with the printer or can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website. Run the 'setup.exe' file to install the print driver. Choose the WiFi printer as the default printer.
4. Send test prints. Once the printer is connected to the router and the print drivers have been loaded, send test prints from each computer to make sure the printer is receiving data.
