1. Pull open the ink cartridge door on the front, right side of the printer to access the four printer ink tanks. The ink tanks are installed behind the ink cartridge door in a specific order. The black ink tank is the leftmost ink tank.
2. Press down on the release tab above the black ink tank to unlock the ink tank.
3. Pull the black ink tank out of the Brother MFC-295CN printer and dispose of it properly.
4. Remove the replacement ink tank from the packaging and twist the green knob on the protective cap to the right. Pull the protective cap off of the replacement ink tank.
5. Line the ink tank in the black ink slot by facing the arrow on the top of the tank toward the inside of the printer.
6. Slide the replacement ink tank into the slot until you hear a click and then close the ink cartridge door.
7. Check the printer LCD screen for the message 'Did You Change Blck?' If the message appears, press '1' on the control pad to select 'Yes.' This will reset the printer ink counter. On most occasions the ink counter will reset automatically and you will not see the message.
