1. Put a small piece of tape over the bottom contact of the second column of contacts from the right. Insert the HP 93 cartridge into the printer with the tape still over the contact. The printer will print an alignment page once the cartridge is inserted.
2. Remove the HP 93 cartridge when the alignment page finishes printing. Put a small piece of tape over the bottom contact of the second column from the left. This is the same as in step 1, but on the opposite side. Insert the HP 93 cartridge into the printer with both pieces of tape still covering the contacts. The printer will print another alignment page once the cartridge is inserted.
3. Remove the HP 93 cartridge when the alignment page is complete. Remove the pieces of tape from the contacts on the cartridge. Insert the HP 93 cartridge into the printer, and it will read the ink levels as full.
4. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if this does not work. In Step 2, instead of placing the tape over the bottom contact in the second column of contacts from the left, place it over the bottom contact of the far left column of contacts. Complete the rest of the instructions of Steps 2 and 3.
