How to Change the Number of Simultaneous Downloads in Chrome

1. Click the “Start” button, then type “regedit” in the search box. Press the “Enter” key or click the magnifying glass icon. The Windows Registry Editor appears on the screen.
2. Click “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” in the left pane of the Registry Editor window. Navigate to the “Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings” value.
3. Click the “Edit” menu bar option. On the drop-down list, click “New,” then “DWORD (32-bit) Value.” After the “New Value #1” text box appears in the right pane of the window, replace the default text with “MaxConnectionsPerServer” and press the “Enter” key.
4. Double-click the new MaxConnectionsPerServer key in the right windowpane. Enter a number greater than five in the “Value Data” box. For instance, if you want to download ten files at once, enter “10” in the box and click the “OK” button.
5. Create another DWORD (32-bit) Value key using the same technique you used to create the MaxConnectionsPerServer key. Rename the new key “MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server.”
6. Double-click the “MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server” key. Enter the same number you entered for the MaxConnectionsPerServer key in the “Value Data” box and click “OK.”
7. Click “File,” then “Exit” to close the Windows Registry Editor. Restart the computer.
8. Launch Google Chrome on your PC. Chrome now allows concurrent downloads up to the value you specified in the Windows Registry.
