How to Install an HP Printer to Ubuntu

1. Attach your printer to your computer. If you are adding a network printer, make sure you know the printer's network Address.
2.
Open a browser window and type the following address in the address bar:
http://localhost:631
The CUPS graphical interface will open in your browser.
3. Click on 'Add New Printer' in the Welcome section of the page.
4.
Type in the name of your printer, its location and a description. Click 'Continue.'
Be as descriptive as possible, especially if you are adding more than one printer.
5.
Choose the correct driver from the device drop down menu.
6.
Choose your model from the drop down menu.
7. Click 'Add Printer.'
8. Fill in the administrator name and password to complete the printer installation.
9.
Return to http://localhost:631 and click the 'Printers' tab to make sure you were successful.
