1. Change the printer ink if the ink runs out. Open the front access cover and let the carriage stop moving. Open each cartridge's latch and lift the old cartridges from the carriage. Insert the new cartridges at the same angle that you removed the old ones. Close the printer latch and printer access cover. The printer will charge the ink you just installed.
2. Clean the print cartridges if the printouts are blurry or contain lines. Hold the 'Power' button for a few seconds. Simultaneously, press the 'Cancel' button twice for a 'Level One' cleaning. Press 'Cancel' twice and 'Resume' once for a 'Level Two' cleaning. Press the 'Cancel' button and the 'Resume' button twice for a 'Level Three' cleaning.
3. Reset the printer and computer. Power off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet. Restart your computer by pressing 'Start,' selecting the button next to 'Shut Down' and click 'Restart.' This will solve any communication error that exists between the computer and printer. Check the cables to ensure that they are properly connected. The printer has a USB cable and a power cable connected to the back to the device.
