How to fix problems HP with all in one printer

1. Turn off or unplug the printer. You can also push the button and reset the power, but leave it off for a bit.
2. Insert the installation software CD that came with your HP unit. Make sure it says 'for Microsoft Windows Vista'.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts and now turn on the printer and plug in the USB cable when prompted.
4. If your computer freezes or the installation stalls at any point, it could be time to try something else. Or, restart the computer and reinsert the CD into your computer. Wait for it to load.
5. Go to the website shown below in Resources and download the drivers for your particular make and model of Hewlett-Packard (HP) all-in-one machine for WINDOWS VISTA. Type in the make and/or model number. It is usually found right on the machine.Double-check you click on the correct model and operating system. If you do not this will cause multiple problems for your HP product installation. Installation may take 30-45 minutes. The drivers will be downloaded to your computer and you will have to click on it and follow the prompts to install it completely so it will work.
6. You can also try to install the printer manually by clicking on 'printers' in Windows Vista, turning on the HP all-in-one and having it locate the printer and install itself. Follow the on-screen prompts. You may have to attempt this a few times if none of the other steps work.
7. After successful installation by any one of these methods, go to properties inside of 'printers' selection. Print a test page while you are inside of this box. You can also print a word processing or Internet page. Also check ink levels and cartridge alignment.
