How to Speed Up Streaming Video Buffering (7 Steps)

1. Click the 'Start' button and select 'Control Panel.'
2. Type 'adapter' in the search box, and click 'View network connections.'
3. Right-click a network adapter from the list, and click 'Diagnose.' Follow any recommendations after the diagnostic test and repair completes, if necessary.
4. Play the video again. If you still experience streaming-video buffering problems, go to the next step.
5. Navigate to the SpeetTest.net website (see Resources). Click the 'Begin Test' button on the website. This will test your download and upload speeds, and will complete in about 20 seconds.
6. Compare the 'Your Results' and 'ISP Average' bars, and note if the 'Your Results' bar is lower or higher than the 'ISP Average.'
7. Contact your Internet service provider. If you have dial-up, switch to DSL or cable; otherwise, ask your ISP to verify that have the right throughput to watch streaming videos.
