How to Create Your Own Printable Tournament Bracket Sheets

1. Divide the teams in half. You need to start with an equal number on each side.
2. Draw lines of the right and left-hand sides of a horizontal piece of paper. Draw one line for every team or competitor in the tournament.
3. Draw a single straight line between every two lines on the sides. Draw another single line between the two brackets now in the second column, and continue until you have just one line in the middle. For example, if you start with 16 lines, with eight on each side, you should end up with four columns that decrease in size until there are just two there are just two lines in the middle.
4. Enter the names of the teams or competitors in the columns on the end. They should be entered by seed. For example, if there are 16 teams, the No. 1 seed must be on the opposite side of the page from the No. 2 seed, and No. 1 must start against No. 16, and No. 2 must start against No. 15. The No. 3 seed must be on the opposite side of the No. 4 seed. No. 3 must start against No. 14, and No. 4 against No. 12 and so forth. Set up the tournament so, in the event all of the favorites win each round, No. 1 meets No. 2 in the final lines in the middle.
5. Enter the name of each winning team in the next open bracket. For example, if No. 1 is Northwest and No. 16 is Westside, and Northwest wins, write Northwest in the second column. Fill in the bracket with actual winners until you get to the middle. Most brackets don't have a dedicated space to list the final winner since there is no other round to play.

How to Troubleshoot a Sharp Cash Register

1. Check the printer to make sure that the paper roll is full and installed correctly. Paper issues can cause sales to go through without printing a receipt, and a crooked paper roll can easily jam the printer. Make sure that your paper is EPSON approved, as Sharp printers are prone to becoming noisy when used with lower quality paper. When installing the paper roll, refrain from touching the print head or the motor.
2. Press the 'CL' key, then press 'ESC' twice. This is the cash register's error escape function, allowing you to bypass a transaction or other user input that has caused the machine to freeze up.
3. If you are using an SD memory card to transfer data, verify that the card has empty space. New memory cards may need to be formatted before they can be used with the cash register. To format a memory card, consult your user manual for the correct key input pattern for your machine. Additionally, make sure that the write-protect switch on the card is set to 'Protected.'
4. Slide the hidden lever on the bottom of the machine to manually open the cash drawer. This allows the user access to the drawer even in the event of a power failure. It is important to note that the drawer cannot be manually opened if it has been physically locked with the cash register key.

How to Find an Inkjet Printer That Prints on CDs

1. Understand the difference. The main difference between printers that can print on CDs and printers that cannot is the paper carriage. Just like normal printers that have thickness settings to accommodate envelopes and labels, a printer that prints on CDs is designed to handle thick, rigid discs.
2. Most printers have a special tray that you place the CD into and then run through the printer. Others have a special slot or drawer for CD-Rs. You will need to change the printer settings on your computer to print CDs.
3. Determine your needs. You'll probably want a printer that you can use for photos and documents, as well as CDs. Dedicated CD printers for bulk labeling exist, but these are usually high-end, high-priced and for professional use.
4. Go shopping. There are many CD printers on affordable on the market. Simply do an Internet search for 'CD printers.' Look for models in your price range that fit your needs. Go with brands you trust.
5. Look for the right features. You want an inkjet printer that functions as a normal printer and has the ability to print CDs. Stand-alone, dedicated CD printers are probably not what you want.
6. Read reviews. The technology is relatively new and a lot of models have some kinks. See how the loading mechanism works. Many users report problems and some minor annoyances, such as having to load and reload and problems with alignment.
7. Buy a printer. Once your research is finished, go out and buy it.

How to Know If Your Print Head Is Bad (4 Steps)

1. Open your printer cover and check to see if it moves at all first. If not, the print head motor (what powers the unit) may be bad.
2. Attempt to clean your print head if it does move. This option is available on the 'Service,' 'Cleaning' or similar tab of your printer options (click CTRL + P then 'Properties' to find these options). Go through both the standard cleaning and the more advanced cleaning.
3. Repeat the cleaning process at least three times. If the print-outs are still blurry or the ink is not transferring to the page at all, then the print head may just be bad.
4. Try to clean the print head manually as an additional check to see if the print head is bad. Remove it from the printer (if possible--some print heads are not removable). Place the print head in a saucer full of isopropyl alcohol and let it soak overnight. If the printout is still spotty, has lines or doesn't print at all, then the head is bad. If it is not removable, you have to rely on Steps 1 through 3 to determine if it is permanently damaged.

How to Scan Images on a HP Printer (5 Steps)

1. Decide how the scanned image will be used. For example will the image be printed, digitally edited, used in a digital photo frame, or resized? These factors, along with others, will determine the resolution and file format as described in step 4. DPI dots per inch affect the resolution--the more dpi, the sharper the image. JPEGs, GIFs, and TIFFs are examples of file formats for a scanned image when saved on a computer.
2. After deciding how the image will be used, start the computer scanning software. The computer program can be an image editing software, like Photoshop or the HP scanning software program, including drivers, which came with your printer. You can also download scanning software and drivers from HP's website. Clean the scanner's glass before placing the image on it.
3. After preparations, select FILE>ACQUIRE (or SCANNER or IMPORT, depending on the scanning software used). Adjust the resolution (standard setting 300 dpi, see step 4 for details), color mode, add a filter effect, size and other settings to achieve the best quality scan. Run preview to confirm the results before the final scanning.
4. Save the scanned image as a TIFF for archiving. TIFF files can be resaved and edited without compression loss, thus maintaining the high quality of an image. If you are enlarging an original 4 x 6 photo to 8.5 x 11, save the scanned image as a TIFF at 600 dpi resolution. TIFFs provide more detail than other file formats. Scanned images for email and posting on the Web, which are to be viewed on a monitor, should be saved as JPEGs at 75 or 100 dpi. JPEGs generate smaller file sizes, which download faster on the Internet. Increase the resolution to 150 or 300 dpi only if you are emailing a scanned JPEG image for the recipient to print. Save JPEGs at the maximum quality setting.
5. Share your scanned images. Now you know the basics of scanning an image. Restore old photographs, edit images in your favorite software program, add text, create a scrapbook, load your scanned images into a digital frame or simply frame your photo and hang it on the wall. Digital technology is only limited by a person's imagination. Don't let your imagination restrict your infinite power to create and dream.

2. Fill out a fax cover letter. Most corporations have a specialized cover letter with company logo or letter head and blank spaces for information. While that is helpful, it isn't necessary. A fax cover letter must have the recipient's name and/or business name on it. You must also put your name, your company name and a return phone or fax number on the form as well. It is helpful to note the number of pages included in the fax. This can all be done on a blank sheet of printer paper.

How to Install a Canon IP1700 Cartridge

1. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Then connect the power cord to any electrical outlet. The printer must be plugged in to change ink cartridges.
2. Lift the printer's front cover. The ink cartridges move to the center automatically, making it easier to change cartridges.
3. Remove old or expired print cartridges by pushing them down and pulling them out from the printer.
4. Remove the ink cartridge from its package and remove the protective plastic label. Don't touch any of the contacts on the ink cartridge; this could potentially damage it.
5. Slide the CL-41 FINE color ink cartridge into its appropriate slot (it is marked) and push up until it clicks into place. Do the same for the PG-40 FINE black ink cartridge.
6. Close the printer lid when finished. The printer will calibrate itself and clean the printer head automatically. This process takes a few minutes to finish. Wait until it is done before printing.

How to Change Drum Brake Shoes

1. Remove the hub caps of both rear wheels and crack the lug nuts loose with a lug nut wrench. Do not loosen the nuts too much with the vehicle still on the ground.
2. Lift the rear of the vehicle with the floor jack and place the vehicle onto jack stands in a safe and secure position to support the weight of the vehicle. Remove the lug nuts and wheels.
3. Remove the drum. Different vehicles use different style drums. Some may have retaining screws holding them to the hub. Inspect the hub face of the drum for any retaining devices and remove them before attempting to remove the drum. Some drums remove from the rear hub by removing a dust cap, spindle nut, and bearing. Other drums simply sit over the shoes and are easily removed; even still, brake shoes may be adjusted upward, making the removal of the drum more challenging, or the inside diameter of the drum may have a rust ridge causing the drum to catch on the shoes. De-adjusting the shoes would be helpful using a brake shoe spoon through the porthole located in the backing plate. Be sure to refer to a repair manual for your specific vehicle to determine how the drum is affixed to the vehicle. One last note on brake drums: in some cases, the brake drum hub may be rusted stuck to the rear axle hub. To separate, apply a generous amount of the penetrating oil to the junction and strike the hub face of the drum (never the side) with a hammer to 'shock' the drum from the axle hub. Remove the other drum in the same fashion.
4. Inspect the inside diameter of the drums (but leave them on their respective sides to not mix them up). Check for surface cracks, scoring, or unevenness of the surface. Measure the inside diameter with a drum micrometer and compare the measurement to the discard and minimum specifications stamped on the hub face of the drum. If necessary, have the drum turned on a lathe to resurface if necessary. Auto parts stores or local repair shops will often do this for a nominal charge as long as the drum is within measurement specifications. If the drum is over the measurement specifications, it needs to be replaced.
5. Inspect the wheel cylinders (both sides) with a screwdriver. Press in on the bore of the cylinder and watch to see if it returns properly. Move the rubber boots back to inspect for seepage of brake fluid. Leaking, seeping, or seized bores require the wheel cylinder to be removed. To do this, the cylinder needs to be removed from the steel brake line connection at the backing plate, and the brake system needs to be bled to purge air out after the replacement is complete.
6. Leave one side of the rear brakes together as a reference while removing and replacing the other side.
7. Inspect the shoes. Even if you're replacing the shoes, you should look at the old ones and how they're retained to the backing plate. Also note if the primary shoe (towards the front of the vehicle) is smaller than the secondary shoe. Although the shoe horns are the same size, in some vehicles, the friction material of the shoe is smaller on the primary shoe then the secondary. Inspect the new shoes to make sure you're replacing them correctly and the correct set was purchased.
8. Remove the hold-down spring on the secondary shoe (holding the parking brake actuator). Press the hold-down pin secure against the backing plate with a finger and place the brake shoe retaining spring tool onto the face of the spring and turn. The end of the pin has a wider slot that mates to the spring cap in a position that will release the pin from the cap and spring.
9. Remove the return springs using the brake shoe pliers. In most cases, there are three different return springs connecting the two shoes together. Two at the top and one at the bottom. Refer to the repair manual for any variation for your specific vehicle. Also, for vehicles with a self adjuster cable, remove this from the secondary shoe.
10. Remove the hold-down spring from the primary shoe as you did in step 8 for the secondary shoe.
11. Remove the shoes. Remove the parking brake retaining clip and pin (if applicable) from the secondary shoe. Spread the clip with a screwdriver and knock the pin out of the shoe with a hammer. Not all rear drums brakes have this option, so refer to the repair manual.
12. Remove the adjuster mechanism. Most common is a star wheel adjuster. Note the position for correct replacement. Separate the star wheel mechanism, clean it with brake clean spray, and apply a coat of anti-seize compound to the threads of the adjuster, and then set it aside. Import vehicles may use a cam adjuster. Again, remove the adjuster and clean thoroughly and make sure the cam is moving. Spray with penetrating lubricant and work it back and forth.
13. Spray the backing plate with brake clean spray and then use a piece of emery cloth to clean the surface of the shoe contact points (three per shoe). Apply a coat of anti-seize compound to the contact points.
14. Reassemble the rear brakes by reversing the procedure. Replace the old return springs and hold-down spring and pins with new ones. Refer to the opposite wheel for reference if needed. Repeat the procedure for the other side, again leaving the drum off on the completed side for reference.
15. Replace the drum and adjust the shoes up using the brake spoon. On the imported vehicles with the cam adjuster, the cam needs to be positioned to allow the drum to fit on and then activating the parking brake on and off repeatedly will self-adjust the shoes. For star wheel adjusters, use the spoon until you can feel the shoes dragging on the inside surface of the drum. Do not over-adjust the shoes. The drum should be able to move, with the shoes dragging enough to stop it before it turns one complete revolution.

How to Print Double Sided

1. Set your computer software for double sided printing if you have a printer that is compatible. Double sided printers are generally professional style machines, and most offices, schools and libraries will have them. On a PC, go to the drop down 'File' menu and select 'Double Sided Printing' under the 'Preferences' or 'Properties' window and print. If you have a MAC, click 'Copies and Pages' under the 'File' menu, select 'Layout' and then click on 'Long-Edged Binding' and print.
2. Print double sided with your standard home printer, again, by setting your PC writing software. When you are ready to print, click on the drop down 'File' menu and select 'Print.' From the 'Print' window select 'odd pages only,' or 'even pages only.'
3. Set your odd and even pages a bit differently if you are working with MAC writing software. Select 'Print' from the drop down 'File' menu and click on the arrow to drop the 'Copies & Pages' menu. Under the 'Copies & Pages' menu, select 'Paper Handling' and then click on 'Odd Numbered Pages' or 'Even Numbered Pages.'
4. Select 'Odd Pages Only' or 'Odd Numbered Pages' and then print as usual. It is a good idea to mark the top of your first page with a pencil so that you know the direction and side of the page your printer prints. Use the mark to determine how to turn your pages and place them back in the printer. Select 'Even Pages Only' or 'Even Numbered Pages' and print again.

How to Override the Low Ink Levels in a Canon Pixma

1. Turn the printer off, then on again. When the 'low ink levels' message pops up on the LCD screen or your computer, click 'OK' and move on. If you don't mind seeing this message, you can continue to do this whenever you restart the printer. You'll still be able to print as usual.
2. Open the top of the printer via the handle on the front and locate the ink cartridges. Grip the front and back and pull straight up to remove any that the printer thinks are low. Look at the bottom for the rows of copper squares. Put a thin strip of tape on the top row and put it back in the printer. Close the lid, wait for the error message, and open it again. Remove the cartridge and add an additional piece of tape over the next row down. Then put it back in, close the lid, and wait for the error message. Remove the cartridge once more and take off the tape, then replace it. This essentially 'tricks' the printer into thinking it's a new cartridge. Repeat with any other cartridges showing error messages.
3. Remove the cartridges and rub the bottoms as well as the bottom of the ink tray with a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol. This will remove any clumps of dried ink that can block the ink from flowing or the cartridge from communicating with the printer.

How to Find My Printer URL for Sharing

1. On your Windows PC, open Microsoft Internet Explorer. Any other Microsoft Windows application with an address bar can serve the same purpose: Windows Explorer or My Computer will work equally well.
2. Query your network's print server. This is done by entering your print server's URL, followed by the request code '/printers/.' If your network's print server is called 'OfficePrinters,' for example, the URL to enter would be:http://OfficePrinters/printers/If you don't know your print server's URL, ask your network administrator or see the Tips section.
3. Identify your printer from the query results. Entering the print server query will bring up a list of the network names of printers available on the network. If there is only one printer connected to the network, the only result will be your printer's network name. If there are several, identify your printer by its manufacturer and model.
4. Find the printer's URL by combining the network name with the print server, using the formula 'http://[your print server name]/[your printer's network name]/.' For example, an HP Deskjet 4480 would show up on the network under a URL like this:http://OfficePrinters/HPDJ4480/This is the printer's URL. Write this address down for sharing the printer.

How to Start a Printer Repair Business

1. Determine the scope of your business. Many printer repair technicians choose to start small by repairing printers on a part time basis. Starting out with a part-time business is a great way to test the waters without giving up your full-time career.
2. Research the local market before you get started. Use your local business directory to determine how many small to medium-size businesses are operating in your area. Large national companies will often use their own in house staff for printer repair or outsource those services to larger firms. Small to medium-sized businesses, on the other hand, may be more receptive to individual printer repair technicians.
3. Consult with an attorney who specializes in small business start-ups. There are a number of important considerations when starting a new business, including taxes, business structure and licensing requirements. A good lawyer will be able to walk you through the process and help you get your business off to the best start.
4. Join your local Chamber of Commerce and your local chapter of the Better Business Bureau. These business organizations are a great way to network with other professionals and get the word out about your business.
5. Make personal contact with the owners of small and mid-size companies in your area. Get business cards made and take them with you as you visit your local businesses. If possible try to set up a meeting with the decision makers in each company. Getting the ear of the person in charge of maintenance services and computer technology is the best way to build your business.

How to Get Rid of Lines From an Inkjet Printer

1. Remove the inkjet cartridge from your printer. Examine the cartridge to identify any leaks. Cracks or leakage could be the cause of the streaks. Gently wipe the nozzle of the cartridge clean with a soft cloth or cotton swab.
2. Examine the container inside of the printer where the printer cartridge sits to see if there are any droplets of printer ink. Clean out any excess ink gently and carefully with a cotton swab. Check the print head as well---that is the area where the nozzle of the print cartridge meets the printer (within the holder) when you insert the cartridge. The print head allows ink to drip through so that it can print on the page---it is a common source of unwanted lines on a printout.
3. Place your inkjet cartridge back into the printer. Use your printer software to run a print head or nozzle cleaning. You can find the cleaning wizard under 'Printer Servicing' or a similarly named option. Print a test sheet to see if you've resolved the issue. If not, run the cleaning tool again until the lines disappear from your printouts.

How to Print Out Back to Back Pictures (5 Steps)

1. Open your image editor and load the photos you want to print. Select 'File > New' to create a new image with a white background that has the same dimensions as the paper you want to print on.
2. Chose the first photo you want to work with. Open the 'Image Size' dialogue located in the 'Image' menu. Set the resolution to between 200 and 300 pixels per inch, depending on the quality of the original photo. If you have a good camera that shoots 8-10 megapixels or more, you should have no trouble with a resolution of 300. A lesser quality camera requires a lower resolution. Click 'OK.'
3. Select the crop tool from the toolbar. In the tool options, make sure the dropdown box next to width and height is set to 'inches.' Enter the size you want the picture to print at. Click and drag the cursor to select your photo. The crop tool will automatically set the selection box's dimensions based on the numbers you entered in width and height. When the image is located within the cropping rectangle, press 'Enter.'
4. Press 'Ctrl + A' to select all of your image. Press 'Ctrl + C' or choose 'Copy' from the 'Edit' menu. Open the window for the blank canvas you created and press 'Ctrl + V' or choose 'Paste' from the 'Edit' menu. Position the picture near the bottom of the canvas by clicking on it and dragging.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 for any other images you want to add to the printout. Each time you paste a new image onto the canvas, the program will automatically make a new layer for it. This allows you to move each individual picture around your canvas and place them all back-to-back. Position each image as desired and print the image when ready.

How to write a Matrimonial Biodata (6 Steps)

1. Type the sub header, “Vital Statistics” or “Personal Details” at the top, left-hand side of the page. Beneath this, write your full name. Directly beneath that, and on separate lines for each feature, include your sex, height, weight, general physical appearance -- muscular or thin, for example – and date and place of your birth. List your religion, number of children, if you have any, and if you have ever been married. Give your education status. This should include the name of the university you are attending or have already graduated from, as well as any degrees you have earned. Include a recent photograph of yourself, in full color if possible, either directly above or to the side of this area of your biodata.
2. Drop down one space in the document and type the sub header, “Employment Information.” On separate lines, list your current job, if you have one, position and salary. If you are a student and not yet working, you can mention what kind of job you plan to seek in the future.
3. Add a space again and then type the third sub header, “Family.” In this section, list the names of your immediate family – this means your father, mother and siblings. Under each name, describe their respective employment details, when applicable.
4. Add information about your hobbies and anything else you feel is important. This may include sports you play and any achievements unrelated to work or education. You may label this section “Hobbies” or “Additional Information.”
5. Supply your contact information at the end of the document. This should include your home address, email and mobile and home telephone numbers.
6. Save your document on your computer and to a flash drive. Print out at least two paper copies of your matrimonial biodata. You should keep one and give the other to your family or a friend to store in a safe place.

How to Replace an Epson CX7400 Ink Cartridge

1. Turn on the Epson Stylus CX7400 Series printer if it is not already on. The red, drop-shaped ink-indicator light on the control panel should be lit, informing you that one or more ink cartridges need to be replaced before you can print.
2. Lift up the scanner portion of the printer, revealing the ink cartridge shuttle underneath. Press the 'Stop' button on the control panel. The shuttle will move so that the empty cartridge lines up with the symbol of a drop with a line through it to make it obvious which cartridge needs to be replaced.
3. Press the 'Stop' button again to see if other cartridges need replacement as well; if they do, the shuttle will shift to indicate the next empty cartridge. Continue pressing the 'Stop' button until all cartridges that need replacement have been indicated and the shuttle has moved to the replacement position on the right side of the printer.
4. Open the cover on the ink cartridge shuttle, pulling it up and back to reveal the installed ink cartridges. Squeeze the tab on top of each cartridge that needs replacement, lifting the cartridges up after squeezing the tabs to remove them from the shuttle.
5. Shake each replacement ink cartridge four or five times while it's still in its package to ensure proper mixing of the ink. Open the package, removing the yellow tape from the ink cartridge. Avoid touching the green chip installed on the cartridge.
6. Slide each new cartridge into the ink cartridge shuttle. The color of the ink corresponds with the colored label for each cartridge slot. Press the cartridge down until you hear it click, which indicates that it has locked into the shuttle. Close the shuttle cover when all ink cartridges are installed.
7. Close the scanner, then press the 'Stop' button to finish the installation process. The CX7400 Series printer will begin charging the ink, a process that takes approximately two minutes. When the power light stops blinking and stays lit, the charging process is complete and the printer is ready for use.

How to Scan Slides (6 Steps)

1. Check your equipment. With technology progressing so rapidly today, if you own a printer that has scanning capability, you may already have everything you need. If not, scanners can be purchased online or at any office or electronic store. If you are going to spring for a new machine, consider buying one specifically with a 'slide attachment.'
2. Install software. If you bought a new scanner, take the time to install the corresponding software on your computer, go through the tutorial it offers and properly calibrate the machine so that you can optimize the photo quality when printing from your computer. If your software is already installed, it might not be a bad idea to double check that it is calibrated properly as well.
3. Organize your images. Rather than simply scanning photos under one massive folder, take the time to create folders for each set of images. This saves you time in the long run as you print photos from your computer. Think of each folder as a separate photo 'album.'
4. Scan the image. The moment you've been waiting for! But be sure when you press the scan button that you are correctly scanning a color or black and white image. It usually makes a difference when it comes to getting the best quality out of your slide.
5. Save the scan. This is where another important decision occurs. You have an option to save the image exactly as scanned so that nothing is lost or altered from the image. Or, you'll have the opportunity to save it as a JPEG file. The reason most people save images as JPEGS is to save space. If you are simply going to be printing this image in a four by six or five by seven format, then JPEG is the way to go as it doesn't clutter your hard drive with huge files. But if this is an image that needs to be blown up for a photo beyond that, you should not compress the image on your computer as some distortion might take place.
6. Enjoy your photos! Now that they are scanned on to your hard drive, have fun sharing the photos and reliving the memories!

How to Scan Several Pictures at a Time (12 Steps)

1. Power on your scanner and ensure that its USB cable is connected to your computer. Arrange the pictures on the glass (most flatbed scanners can fit three to four prints) so that they are spaced apart by about ½ inch.
2. Scan the photos. A prompt window will appear asking you to choose several save options including file type (JPEG, TIFF, BMP), destination folder (My Pictures, My Scans) and resolution (usually in dots per inch, or dpi). For most efficient scanning, select JPEG format at 300 dpi; this will ensure that each picture has an acceptable resolution while not taking up too much space on your hard drive.
3. Click 'OK' or 'Scan' within the prompt window to initiate scanning. Wait until the scanning process is complete, as indicated by the progress bar in a new prompt window.
4. Run your favorite image editing software. If you do not have a dedicated image editing client, the basic software that came with your operating system will suffice (Windows Photo Gallery for PC, iPhoto for Mac).
5. Click 'File > Open' on the toolbar and locate the destination folder where the scan is saved. Double-click the image and view it at about half-size by clicking 'View' on the toolbar and selecting 'Zoom Out.'
6. Select the 'Crop' tool from the software's menu bar. Click and hold any corner of one of the pictures within the scanned image. Move your mouse so that the tool forms an outline around its edges. Double-click inside of the outline to crop the picture from the scan. This establishes the crop as a separate file which can now be saved. Click 'File > Save As' to do so. At this point you can give the picture a new name, alter the file type or change the save destination.
7. Repeat Step 6 for the other pictures within the scan.
Using Epson Scanner Software
1. Place your pictures on the Epson scanner's glass surface, spacing them about ½ inch apart. Press the 'Scan' button. An Epson Scan prompt window will appear. At the top right corner of the window, select 'Professional Mode' from the drop-down menu.
2. Alter the settings under the 'Original' section according to the type of media you're scanning. In this case the Document Type would be Reflective, the Document Source would be the scanner's Document Table and the Auto Exposure Type would be Photo, which represents a standard photographic print. You can also select the resolution (anywhere from 72 to 200 dpi will suffice) and destination folder for your scans at this point.
3. Click the 'Preview' button to get a thumbnail-sized glimpse at what the resulting scans will look like. Epson's software automatically recognizes that each picture positioned on its glass is separate, and previews them accordingly. Check the box under each thumbnail you wish to scan.
4. Perfect the scans by applying any effects (color restoration) or adjusting any settings (exposure compensation) as needed. These will be found under the 'Adjustments' section of the prompt window.
5. Click 'Scan' to initiate the scanning process. To look at the finished scans, open the destination folder you specified in Step 2.

2. Load the vinyl decal paper into your HP printer with the coated side facing the direction your printer prints—facedown if using an HP inkjet printer that is front loading or faceup if the printer is top loading. If using an HP laser printer, load the paper facedown (default setting) if placing the paper in a tray. If using the “Bypass” tray, place the paper faceup.
3. Click “File” and “Print Preview” to view your bumper sticker before printing. If changes are needed to the design, click “Close” to return to the document and make the changes.
4. Click on the printer icon to print the sticker if everything is OK. Do not select “Photo” or “Gloss” paper within your printer's “Properties” box--this will cause the printer to apply too much ink to the bumper sticker, which can cause the ink to run and fade faster when the sticker gets wet.

How to Remove Printer Ink Stains from Clothes

1. First, in short motions, dab the stain with a clean, damp towel or sponge until no ink is lifted from stain.
2. Let the stain air dry.
3. Next, spray the stain with hair spray or dab it with alcohol, whichever you have on hand.
4. Take two paper towels and sandwich the stained fabric between them.
5. Now just blot the backside of the stained fabric. This will force the stain out of the fabric and into the other paper towel.
6. Continue pressing, but as the stain is being transferred to the other paper towel, move that paper towel so that a clean segment of the towel lifts the stain. Continue pressing and moving the paper towel so that the stain does not re-transfer back into the fabric after you’ve gotten it out and into the towel. When the stain, is lifted, you’re done.
7. Now just follow up by applying laundry pre-treatment (stain remover) before tossing the garment in the wash.

3. If the stain does not lift, mix 1 part bleach and 1 part water in a cup, dip the brush or towel into the cup and continue gently brushing the stain. This should definitely lift the printer ink from the garment.
4. Then immediately wash the garment. Do not allow it to dry between scrubbing and washing, otherwise or the ink you loosened from the fabric will just set right back into the fabric.

How to Troubleshoot Your Dell Printer

1. Check that your Dell printer is plugged into a reliable power source. Faulty home wiring or a loose cable may cause the Dell printer to shut off, causing some of your Dell printer problems.
2. Verify that your Dell printer is plugged securely into your computer. Sometimes, the printer cable may be disconnected when you are moving or using your PC. This may result in printer errors when the Dell printer tries to send printer data to your computer, and vice versa. Jiggle the printer cable gently to check that it is plugged in firmly.
3. Restart your computer by clicking the Start menu in the lower left-hand corner of the screen and selecting 'Restart' from the pop-up menu. Internal software conflicts and errors can sometimes prevent your Dell printer from completing the printing job successfully. Restarting your computer clears the system cache and may help resolve these issues when troubleshooting your Dell printer.
4. Turn off the Dell printer by pressing its Power button. Turn the Dell printer on again while simultaneously holding down the up arrow key and the down arrow key, located on the front panel of the printer. This initiates the Dell printer's 'Customer Mode' menu on the printer's front display screen.
5. Test the Dell printer's print quality by pressing the arrow key to select each of the printer's types of ink (e.g. cyan), and pressing the Return key to initiate a test print. This can help troubleshoot whether you have a problem with the Dell printer's connection to your computer or a hardware issue. If the Dell printer is able to generate a test print successfully, the problem does not lie with the printer's actual printing mechanisms.
6. Clear the Dell printer's NVRAM cache to help troubleshoot the Dell printer. Press Menu on the front display panel and select Configure. Use the arrow keys to click Maintenance and then select Init NVRAM. Press the return panel to clear the Dell printer's internal memory. Restart the printer by turning it off with the Power button, then turning it back on.
7. Contact Dell's customer service center (link in the Resources section) if your Dell printer troubleshooting methods fail to pintpoint a specific problem with the Dell printer.

How to Upload Photos from a Canon EOS With No CD

1. Check your camera settings to make sure you are shooting in JPG mode. DSLR cameras and certain high-end compact cameras have a RAW photo mode. This mode takes uncompressed shots and stores all photo information, like white balance, exposure and shutter speed, for post-processing on the computer. Shooting RAW is great for having full control of your shots, but not convenient when you don't have the Canon-supplied software, which you need to read these photos. Avoid shooting in RAW if you don't have your CD.
2. Connect the EOS camera to your PC, and turn the camera on. By default, your computer recognizes the camera and opens an 'Auto Play' window with a few choices. If this wizard doesn't appear, proceed to Step 4. Depending on how you've configured your computer, you may see different options here, but all Windows-based PCs using at least Windows XP have a built-in photo transfer program. Choose 'Transfer Photos Using Microsoft Photo and Scanner Wizard.' A program appears with a list of your photos shown as thumbnails. Click the checkbox beside a photo to select it for transfer, or click 'Select All' to highlight all photos. Click 'Next' to confirm your choice, and then choose a folder to store the files in. Click 'Next' again to begin transferring.
3. Look in your computer for a built-in card reader. A lot of laptops now come with a media card slot that can read SD cards, which Canon's EOS digital cameras use. You can insert the SD memory card from your EOS directly into the card slot and transfer photos by copying and pasting the images from one folder to another.
4. Connect the camera via the USB cable and turn it on. Don't worry if a wizard or 'Auto Play' wizard doesn't appear; you can still access the photos. Click 'Start' and 'Computer' (or 'My Computer' in Windows XP). Under 'Computer' on the left-hand side, look for 'Canon Digital Camera.' Click on the camera to browse to the memory card, which Windows sees as an external drive or flash drive. You can copy your images from here to a folder on your computer.
5. Upload your images to the host of your choice. There are lots of free options out there, like Flickr and Picasa, or you can just share your photos through your Facebook account. The upload features differ between photo hosts, so check with your specific photo website for instructions. Usually, you log in to your account, click 'Upload,' and then choose files from your computer.

How to Thread a New Home Sewing Machine (9 Steps)

1. Wind the bobbin by placing a spool of thread on to the spool pin or thread holder, on the top of the sewing machine. Place the empty bobbin onto the bobbin winding pin on the top right of the machine. Wrap the thread securely around the bobbin six times by hand. Slide the bobbin-winding pin to the right until it clicks in place. Slide the thread from the spool end securely under the tension pin on the top left. Press the foot petal to wind the bobbin. Cut the thread when the machine stops.
2. Thread the machine by unwinding a 12-inch length of thread and hold it securely close to the spool of thread with your right hand.
3. Wrap the thread behind the thread guide on the left of the spool pin, with your left hand.
4. Draw the thread down and under the thread guide, then back up and over take-up lever, and down again. Gently pull on the thread to remove any slack. The thread guide and take-up lever connects the thread to the upper tension wheel, keeping an even pull on the thread as it passes through the machine. Release the thread from your right hand.
5. Slide the thread into the needle bar thread guide on the needle assembly. The needle bar thread guide is a bar with a slot or a ring with an opening for the thread.
6. Thread the needle with the needle threader. Older sewing machines do not have a needle threader; thread them using a hand needle threader.
7. Open the bobbin casing door and set the bobbin into the bobbin case, leaving a 6-inch tail. Close the bobbin door.
8. Turn the wheel on the right side of the machine forward by hand to lower the threaded needle down into the bobbin case. Continue turning the wheel until the needle returns to the highest position. This will bring the thread tail up from the bobbin. Pull the tail up and out with your fingers.
9. Slide the upper and lower threads under the presser foot. Set the fabric under the presser foot, then lower the presser foot lever. Hold both threads and press on the foot pedal. After sewing five to six stitches, release the threads.

How to Refill an HP 05A (7 Steps)

1. Plug your hole-making tool into an outlet and set it on its stand. Wait about five minutes for the tool to heat up before continuing.
2. Locate the orange loop on one end of the cartridge and position the cartridge so that it is standing up, with the orange loop end resting against the table. Rotate the cartridge in front of you until you can see the orange and green switches on the bottom of the cartridge.
3. Hold the cartridge steady with one hand and pick up your hole-making tool with the other. Locate the metal nut on the left side of the cartridge near the top. Press the hole-making tool into the cartridge slightly to the right and down from that nut. Once the tool punches through the plastic, place it on its stand and unplug it.
4. Place the cartridge over a waste basket and try to shake as much old toner out of the hole as you can.
5. Tap the bottle of replacement toner on the table to loosen the toner.
6. Remove the cap from the bottle of replacement toner. Hold the cartridge the same way as before, but tilt it at a 45-degree angle. Place the tip of the bottle into the hole and let the toner flow into the cartridge.
7. Remove the bottle once it is empty, or the cartridge is filled. Place a piece of sealing tape or duct tape over the hole.
