How to Replace the Waste Ink Pad on the Canon 160 Copier

1. Turn the Canon Pixma MP160 off but make sure the printer's power cable is plugged in to a working outlet.
2. Open the front lid of the Canon Pixma MP160 printer.
3. Locate the waste ink pad on the inside of the printer. You will find it in the center section of the internal components, just to the right of the tray that contains the ink cartridges. The waste ink pad is a rounded piece of white foam. Pull on the waste ink pad to remove it from the printer. Be careful, because the pad will most likely have wet ink on it.
4. Insert the new waste ink pad in the same place you removed the old one and then shut the printer lid.
5. Hold down the 'Power' and 'Stop' buttons at the same time.
6. Release the 'Stop' button twice when the 'Power' light comes on and then press the 'Stop' button twice more.
7. Release both the 'Power' and 'Stop' buttons to put the printer into service mode.
8. Press the 'Stop' button four times to reset the waste ink pad counter.
