How to Fix a Paper Jam in an HP Printer (3 Steps)

1. Remove any foreign objects from your printer and press the 'Resume' button on the printer's front panel. Proceed to Step 2 if this does not clear the paper jam.
2. Turn off your printer off. Press the two rear access door latch handles toward each other and remove the door. Slowly remove any paper by pulling it out through the back of the printer. Replace the rear access door. Proceed to Step 3 if this does not clear the jam.
3. Lift the printer cover and slowly remove the paper from the printer--be careful because you can damage the printer when removing paper through the front. Close the cover. Turn your printer back on and press 'Resume' to continue printing your document.
