How to Change a Print Cartridge on an HP Deskjet 5150

1. Turn on your HP Deskjet 5150 and load the paper tray with paper.
2. Lift up the printer cover to reveal the print cartridge carrier located on the right side of the printer.
3. Place a fingertip underneath the front lip of the print cartridge latch covering the cartridge you’re replacing and lift up to open the latch.
4. Grasp the front of the low or spent print cartridge, slide it from the slot and set it aside for disposal.
5. Remove the tape that protects the ink nozzles and copper-colored electrical contacts on the bottom and back of your replacement print cartridge.
6. Slide the print cartridge into the empty slot with the copper-colored contacts facing the back of slot.
7. Flip the print cartridge latch over the top of the cartridge and press down on the latch to lock it in place. Repeat with the second cartridge, if necessary.
8. Close the printer cover. If you changed the print cartridges correctly, the printer should automatically align the cartridges and print out a print alignment page. After it prints the page, begin printing.
