How to Set Up Remote Desktop Printing to a Network Printer

1. Find the name or IP address of the computer you need to access remotely. You will need this information to connect. Contact your IT department to get the name or IP address of the remote PC.
2. Go to another computer connected to the network. Click on the 'Start' button and choose 'Run' from the menu.
3. Type 'mstsc' in the box and click 'OK.' Click on the 'Options' button when the Remote Desktop Connection window opens.
4. Go to the 'Local Resources' tab and check the 'Printers' box. Click 'Connect' to make the connection to the remote computer. Checking the 'Printers' box means that all of your printers, both locally attached printers and network printers, will be available in the remote session.
5. Type the full name or IP address of the computer in the box and click 'Connect.' This is the information you gathered about the computer in Step 1. When you connect, you will have access to all of the files on the remote computer, as well as all of your network printers.
