How to Connect a Wireless Laptop to a Desktop Printer

1. Use an Ethernet cable to connect your desktop printer to your Internet modem.
2. Click 'Start' on your wireless laptop. Click 'Control Panel' in the Start menu. Click 'Hardware and Sound' in the Control Panel menu. Click 'Add a printer' under the Devices and Printers heading.
3. Click 'Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.' Browse the list of available printers and choose your desktop printer from the list. Click 'Next.'
4. Enter a name for the desktop printer when prompted, such as 'Office Printer' or 'Smith Printer.' Click 'Next.'
5. Select whether you want to share the desktop printer or not. Click 'Next.' Place a check mark next to 'Set as the default printer' if you want your laptop to automatically print to this printer. Click 'Finish.'
