How to Reset the Ink Memory Level on an HP Ink Cartridge

1. Open the printer cover to remove the ink cartridge from the printer.
2. Apply a piece of tape to your HP ink cartridge to cover the four lateral contacts at the very left corner starting from the top.
3. Insert the ink cartridge back into its place. Ignore the error message. Let the printer print an alignment page.
4. Remove the ink cartridge from the printer. Remove the tape.
5. Apply the piece of tape to cover the four lateral contacts at the very right corner starting from the top.
6. Insert the ink cartridge back into its place. Ignore the error message. Let the printer print an alignment page.
7. Remove the ink cartridge for the final time. Remove the tape.
8. Insert the ink cartridge back into to your printer. Let the printer print off an alignment page. You should find your ink levels reset.
