How to Reset an HP DeskJet 1280 (4 Steps)

1. Turn on the printer using the power button. Ensure that the light comes on and that paper is correctly loaded into the feed tray.
2. Unplug the AC power supply from the rear of the printer while the DeskJet 1280 is still on. Wait about 10 seconds to allow the current to discharge from the AC adapter then unplug the AC power supply from the wall. Wait 15 to 30 seconds. This allows the printer hardware to softly reset.
3. Insert the AC power supply back into the rear of the printer. Insert the AC power supply back into a wall outlet.
4. Turn the printer back on by pressing the power button once.
