How to Clean Epson 3000 Print Heads

1. Access the Epson Utility in the Printer control panel in Windows. The name of this control panel varies depending on your version of Windows. In this utility, locate the Head Cleaning option and click it to begin the automatic cleaning process. If this utility doesn't do the trick, try one of the following methods.
2. Print pages filled with the color that appears to be clogged or is causing problems. This process can help to unclog print heads on the Epson 3000.
3. Turn on the printer, remove the ink cartridges from left to right, and turn off the printer. Wait roughly a minute and then turn on the printer. Replace the ink cartridges from left to right.
4. Move the print heads away from their default positions until you see the pads underneath. Place a few drops of Windex with ammonia on each pad. Use a baby syringe to transfer the drops, or saturate a cotton swab and press it against the pads.
5. Prevent clogged nozzles in the future by leaving the printer on, even when you're not using it.
