How to Clear a Paper Jam on an HP Officejet Pro 7500

1. Remove any loose paper from the HP Officejet Pro 7500, including paper in the document tray. Do not pull on any jammed paper.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer and power off the printer. Remove the power cord from the rear and remove the rear access door or paper duplexer.
3. Look for jammed paper in the back. If you see any, gently remove the paper using both hands. Use a flashlight to peer into the back and look for pieces of paper from the jam.
4. Push down on the latch on top of the duplexer to lower the cover, if your printer has a duplexer. Use both hands to remove any jammed paper in the duplexer. Close the duplexer cover when finished.
5. Put the duplexer or back cover back on the rear of the printer. Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer. Wait to view the screen to see if you still have a paper jam message. If so, you will have to keep working to clear the jam.
6. Lift up the carriage access door from the front of the printer. The carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, will move to the right. Power off the printer once this happens and remove the power cord.
7. Use both hands to gently remove any additional jammed paper. Be sure to get any small pieces. When done, close the carriage access door and reconnect the power cord before powering on the printer.
