How to Save Tape on a Brother PT

1. Hold down the 'Code' button and press '@2' once. '@2' has an alternate function of 'Size.' Keep 'Code' pressed to display the current size setting. Keep pressing '@2' until the desired size setting is displayed. The size setting is on the top of the display. For example, if 'Size Auto' is displayed, keeping 'Code' and '@2' pressed will display other sizes; choose a smaller size like 'Size 24,' which will print the text at 24 Point.
2. Change the letter width setting by holding 'Code' down and pressing '@3,' which has an alternative function of 'Width.' The current width setting will be displayed, which will either be 'Wide On' or 'Wide Off.' Keep 'Code' pressed down along with '@3' until 'Wide Off' is displayed. The 'Wide Off' setting will reduce individual letter width and reduce tape use.
3. Reduce the tape margin to save more tape. The default is 'Full,' which leaves a 1-inch margin on each side of the text. Other settings reduce tape and 'None' saves the most tape. Change the setting by holding down 'Code' and pressing 'E' once. 'E' has an alternative function of 'Tape.' Keep them both pressed until 'None' is displayed, then release 'E' and the release 'Code.'
