How to Protect a Worksheet Only Allow Edit in Certain Cells in Excel 2007

1. Open Microsoft Excel 2007 by clicking on the 'Excel' icon on your desktop.
2. Use your mouse to highlight the cells on the worksheet that you want to protect from editing.
3. Locate the 'Home' tab at the top of the screen. Click on the 'Format' option that is located in the 'Cells' subgroup.
4. Click the 'Protect Sheet' option under the 'Protection' subgroup.
5. Type a password into the 'Password to Unprotect Sheet' space. If you don't want to use a password, leave the space blank. Click the 'OK' button.
6. Click the 'Format' button on the 'Home' tab. Click on the 'Lock Cell' option under the 'Protection' subgroup.
