How to Reuse an Epson Maintenance Tank (5 Steps)

1. Spread out newspaper or a cloth to protect the surface you will be cleaning the tank on, and put on gloves to keep your hands clean.
2. Unclip and remove the plastic grid on top of the tank. Use the screwdriver to pry open the clips if necessary. Set the grid aside and use the needle-nose pliers to pull out the absorbent foam from the tank and throw it away.
3. Wipe the inside of the tank to clean it out. Rinse with water if you want it completely clean.
4. Cut a pieces of absorbent foam or cloth to fit inside the tank. Put in enough layers to fill the tank without spilling over the top. Replace the lid and clip it to the top of the tank.
5. Insert the metal prongs of the Epson chip resetter into the small computer chip on the end of the tank and hold it there for a few seconds. Wait for the LED light on the resetter to turn green, then remove it. Put the tank back into the printer.
