Epson NX110 Instructions

1. Unpack the NX110 printer from the box. Make sure that you have all the parts, including the printer, owner's manual, ink cartridges, software and USB cable. Remove all protective tape and materials from the printer.
2. Connect the power adapter and USB cable into the indicated ports on the back of the printer. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet or surge protector. Press the 'On' button and check to see that it has power.
3. Lift the scanner and use the attached support to prop it up, similar to propping up a car hood. Shake the ink cartridges well, then unwrap them. Remove the yellow tape from each cartridge. Do not remove any other seals, doing this can cause the ink to leak out.
4. Insert each ink cartridge into the corresponding color cartridge holder. Press each cartridge down until it clicks into place.
5. Grasp the middle of the scanner support bar and squeeze to release and lower the bar. Press the 'Stop' button to charge the ink and prime the printer. Allow two minutes for the ink to fully charge. Do not turn the printer off while in the charging process.
6. Open the paper support on the top of the printer. Open the output tray at the bottom of the printer and pull out the extension.
7. Pull the feeder guard out and flip it forward, then squeeze the edge guide and slide it left. Load the paper against the right edge, making sure it sits underneath the tab. Slide the edge guide over to the paper. Flip the feeder guard back.
8. Install the software for Windows. Insert the NX110 Series software CD into the computer you will be printing from -- do not connect the printer to the computer at this point. Click 'Run SETUP.EXE' when the 'AutoPlay' window pops up, then click 'Continue' once the 'User Account Control' screen pops up. Click 'Install', then follow the on-screen directions. The 'Software Installation' window will then pop up; click 'Install driver for USB connection', then click 'Next'. Connect the USB cable to an open USB port on the back of your computer as prompted. Follow the on-screen directions to install the rest of the printer software. Remove the CD when you are done.
9. Install the software for a MAC. Insert the NX110 CD into the computer you will be printing from -- do not have the printer plugged in at this point. Double-click the 'Epson' icon. Click 'Install' and follow the on-screen directions. Connect the USB cable to an open port on the back of your MAC, make sure the NX110 printer is securely connected and turned on. Click 'Add Printer' if the 'Software Installation' window pops up, then follow the directions on the right side of the screen. Continue to follow the on-screen directions to install the rest of the software. Remove the CD when you are done.
10. Scan a document or photo. Open the document cover. Place the original document face-down on the glass and align it with the front right corner. Close the document cover. Press the 'Scan' button to scan the image. Save the file to your computer.
11. Copy a document or photo. Place the document on the glass as earlier instructed. For a quick copy; press and hold the 'Stop' button, then press the 'B&W Copy' button for a black and white document, or the 'Color Copy' button for a colored document. To make 20 copies at a time; press and hold the 'Scan' button, then press either the 'B&W' or 'Color' copy buttons.
