1. Click the 'Start' button in the lower, left corner of the desktop, then choose 'Control Panel.' Once the Control Panel window loads, select 'System,' 'Hardware' and finally 'Device Manager.' This loads a window with all the hardware currently installed on the computer.
2. Scroll through the list of hardware until you find the hardware that has defective drivers.
3. Right-click the option and select 'Delete' from the pull-down menu. A prompt asks if you are sure you want to delete the hardware. Select 'Yes' to completely remove the driver from the computer.
4. Exit out of the Device Manager, then open the Internet browser. Navigate to the hardware's manufacturing website and choose the 'Support' feature, followed by 'Downloads and Drivers' (this phrasing may alter slightly, depending on the website you are using).
5. Choose the hardware you are using and the current operating system on the computer, then select the download next to the listed driver. This downloads the driver to the computer.
6. Double-click the downloaded file to load the installation wizard. Accept the license agreement, then choose 'Install' after follow a few prompts to install the corrected driver onto the computer. Restart the computer for the driver to take affect.
