1. Determine which type of video inputs your DLP Projector has. The ideal choice is an HDMI cable, as this is a single cable which transmits a high definition signal. This will be a flat, rectangular port. Second in line is the component video cables. These also transmit an HD signal, and are three round ports color-coded blue, green and yellow. Finally comes the single-port S-Video input. This transmits a digital non-HD signal, is round and has four pin-sized holes in it.
2. Determine which type of video outputs your receiver has, then select the best connection available.
3. Connect your receiver to your DLP projector using the cord you have selected. Insert the ends of the cord into the ports snugly. However, be careful with the S-video cable: It is extremely easy to bend the pins inside the ends of the cable.
4. Turn your receiver on. Set your DLP projector to auto-detect mode, so it can find your receiver and display the video projected from it. If this doesn't work, press the button on the projector or remote to change the video modes. Check your projector's manual for more information.
