How to Reset the Canon MX300 Ink Cartridge

1. Turn off and unplug your Canon MX300. Hold down the 'Power' button on the front of the printer while you plug the printer back in. Still holding the 'Power' button, hold down the red 'Cancel/Stop' button and let go of 'Power.' Keep holding the red button for about 15 seconds until the LCD screen reads 'Idle.' The printer is now in factory mode and lets you reset the cartridges.
2. Press 'Next' under the LCD screen until you see 'Shipping Mode Three.' Press 'OK' twice to print a test page, and continue whether or not the page prints.
3. Open the lid (the entire copier tray lifts up) to reveal the ink cartridges. With the lid open, unplug the power cord (only do this in factory mode). Remove each cartridge by pushing down on the front until it tips down, gripping it and pulling straight up.
4. Close the lid, plug the printer in again and press the 'Power' button to turn the printer back on (no need to hold it down this time).
5. Put the cartridges back in the printer. They are now reset and will read as full and not expired.
