1. Insert the installation CD into the optical drive on your computer. The setup wizard will run automatically. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the printer drivers.
2. Locate the paper input tray on the front panel of the printer. Grip the top edge of the tray and pull downwards. Open the tray completely. Locate and extend the paper output support, which is attached to the output bin on top of the printer.
3. Lift up the front edge of the output bin. Pull the bin up until the print cartridge bay is visible. Remove the print cartridge from its packaging and rock it from side to side to evenly distribute the toner.
4. Remove the tape on the print cartridge. Lower the print cartridge into the printer by the handle. Lower the output bin back to its original position. Fill the paper tray with paper and set the guides on the tray snug against the edges of the paper stack.
5. Examine the rear panel of the printer. Locate the power port on the left edge of the rear panel and the USB port on the right edge. Plug the power cord into the power port and connect the USB cable to the USB port.
6. Plug the other end of the power cord into a power outlet and connect the USB cable to your computer. Press the 'Power' switch on the right side of the printer to turn on the device.
