1. Download the PC Share Manager program from Samsung onto your laptop. Televisions that have the Digital Living Network Alliance technology built in, come with a disc so that you can install the appropriate software on your computer. Insert the disc into your laptop and follow the prompts from the installation wizard to install the program.
2. Plug an ethernet cable into the back of the Samsung television. You have to hook up the television to the Internet for this option to work. Plug the other end of the cord into the ethernet port on a modem or in the appropriate wall outlet.
3. Configure the connection between your home network and television. To do this, use your television remote and press 'Menu' then 'Plug and Play.' Once in this menu, select 'Cable Network Setup.' From there, select 'Auto Setup.' After this is complete, click on 'Network Test.'
4. Launch the PC Share Manager application that you installed on your laptop. At that point, click on the pull-down tab and select 'Start Server.' Then pull down the Share Tab and select 'Set Device Policy.' Then click on 'Accept' and 'Ok.' At this point, your Samsung television should be connected to your laptop.
5. Use a device to connect your laptop to your television if the TV you purchased does not have DNLA technology. For example, you could use a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or a Windows Media Center Extender to connect your laptop to the television.
