How to Enter the Recovery Mode on a Dell Dimension E310

1. Click on the desktop 'Start' button and select the 'Control Panel.'
2. Choose 'System Maintenance.'
3. Select 'Backup and Restore.'
4. Click on 'Back up now.' Enter the administrator username and password, if prompted. Follow the prompts to back up the system.
Restore the System
1. Turn off the computer. Remove any unnecessary peripheral devices from the computer (e.g., printer, flash drive or speakers).
2. Turn on the computer and hold down the 'F8' key on the keyboard until the 'Advanced Boot Options' menu appears. You must hold down 'F8' before the Windows logo appears to enter the 'Advanced Boot Options' menu.
3. Use the down arrow key to select 'Repair Your Computer.' Press the 'Enter' key.
4. Select the language you prefer. Click 'Next.' Log in with the administrator username and password, if prompted. Click 'Next.'
5. Click 'Next' on the 'Dell Factory Image Restore' screen. Check the box next to 'Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition.' Click 'Next.' The computer will restore itself. When prompted, hit 'Finish' to restart the system.
