1. Plug your Epson C86 into your computer using a USB cable. The large, square end is plugged into the printer, and the flatter rectangular end is plugged into the computer.
2. Plug the power cable into your printer. Plug the power cable into a wall socket.
3. Turn on the printer by pressing the power button. Wait until the printer is finished making noise and is idle before proceeding.
Printing Your Document
1. Open your document in a text editing program, such as Microsoft Word.
2. Under File, find the 'Print' button and click it. A dialogue box comes up, allowing you to adjust the settings for the printer.
3. Click the 'Properties' box in the upper right corner. Another dialogue box appears.
4. Locate and click the 'Use Black Ink Only' box in the dialogue box.
5. Click OK to accept your new settings. This returns you to the first dialogue box. Click the print button to send your document to the printer.
