How to Hook Up a Shift 3 XL

1. Take the included stereo composite audio-video cable out of the box. Connect each of the three plugs--yellow, red and white--to the corresponding jacks on the left side of the projector. Plug the yellow plug into the 'V' jack, the white plug into the 'L' jack and the red plug into the 'R' jack.
2. Take the other end of the audio-video cable and connect it to your device's composite video and analog audio output. As with the projector, connect the yellow plug to the yellow-coded composite video output, and the red and white audio plugs to the red-and-white-coded right and left analog output jacks.
3. Plug the projector's power cord into a wall outlet and aim it at a blank wall. Turn the projector on by pressing the power button, marked with a vertical line inside a semicircle. The power button is located to the right of the volume control on the same panel as the input jacks.
4. Decide whether the projector's sound quality is adequate. If not, you can connect its 1/8-inch stereo minijack audio output, labeled with a picture of a pair of headphones, to an audio output device. Computer speakers with a 3.5-millimeter plug can be plugged directly into the jack, or you can connect the projector to a traditional audio system by connecting its earphone output to the audio system's analog audio inputs with a 1/8-inch stereo miniplug-to-stereo-dual-phono plug adapter.
