How to Use an HP 2400 Series Scanner (5 Steps)

1. Confirm that the scanner is connected to your computer via the included USB cable. Turn on your computer, if necessary.
2. Lift the scanner lid and place your document on the glass surface, face down. Note the placement diagram on the scanner and align your document accordingly. Close the scanner lid.
3. Press the 'Scan' button. A dialog screen will appear on your computer; choose 'Document' if scanning something that contains text, or 'Picture' if scanning a photo, drawing or other form of graphic.
4. Choose where you want to save your scanned file. Click 'Scan.' If asked about what you are scanning, select 'Original From Glass' and click 'Scan' again. The scanner will now generate a preview of your scanned image. Use your mouse to modify the scan region and make additional adjustments.
5. Click 'Accept.' The scanner will now generate a final version of your scanned image. A dialog window will appear and ask if you wish to scan more documents. If you are finished scanning, click 'No'; otherwise, click 'Yes,' replace the old document with a new one, then click 'New Scan' and make adjustments where desired.
