How to Scan Using an HP Officejet J4580 Scanner

1. Open the HP Photosmart Software by double-clicking on the 'HP Photosmart' icon on the desktop, or click 'Start,' 'Programs,' and then select the 'HP' folder. Click the 'HP Photosmart Software' link.
2. Load the original into the scanner print side down and in the right front corner.
3. Click the 'Scan' icon.
4. Choose a location to save the scan.
5. Press 'OK'
6. Press 'Start.' The scanned image is saved in the chosen location.
Scan Using Direct Connection
1. Load the original into the scanner print side down and in the right front corner.
2. Press the 'Left Arrow' or 'Right Arrow' to choose a scan function.
3. Press the 'Right Arrow' to choose where to save to the scan.
4. Press 'OK'
5. Press 'Start.' The scanned image is saved in the chosen location.
