How to Load an Envelope Into a Canon Printer (8 Steps)

1. Inspect the envelope to make sure that it is flat. Straighen any bent corners.
2. Inspect the envelope for any curl it may have. If a curl is present, twist the envelope gently in the opposite direction to remove it.
3. Make sure that the envelope flap is flat against the envelope.
4. Rub the end of the envelope that will enter the printer with a closed pen, or other solid object, to sharpen the edge crease.
5. Open the output tray for the paper by, gently, raising it.
6. Place the envelope in the middle of the rear tray. The address side should face outward, and the envelope flap will be on the left side facing the back of the printer.
7. Move the paper guides until each side touches the envelope. Do not squeeze the guides to tightly against the envelope or it may not feed correctly.
8. Set up your print settings by selecting the envelope size and setting 'Landscape' in the orientation setting.
