How to Replace the Fuser in a Brother Laser Printer, Scanner and Copier Model MFC

1. Turn off the device and allow time for it to cool down.
2. Open the both the scanner unit and the scanner covers.
3. Release the lock levers on the fusing unit to release it.
4. Slide the fusing unit out by using the handles on both sides of the unit.
5. Insert the new fusing unit.
6. Lock the levers on both sides of the fusing unit.
7. Slide the pressure release levers to the 'Set' position.
8. Close the scanner unit and scanner covers.
9. Turn the power on.
10. Press the 'Menu/Set' key on the front panel.
11. Press the 'Up' key until 'Machine Info' is displayed and then press 'Menu/Set.'
12. Press the 'Up' key until 'Reset menu' is displayed and then press 'Menu/Set.'
13. Press the 'Up' key until 'Fusing Unit' is displayed and then press 'Menu/Set.' A confirmation message will appear on the LCD display.
14. Press '1' to reset the fusing-unit life counter.
