How to Increase the Print Speed of an Inkjet Printer

1. Access your printer properties. Click 'Properties' when the print dialog pops up just before you print.
2. Find a tab or a dropdown menu where you can select the print quality. Each printer has a slightly different interface, but the options are usually the same.
3. Choose the right quality for your task. What are you printing? An email to show your friends? A resume? A photo? Use low quality or 'fast' mode if printing for personal use.
4. Print in monochrome. Colors aren't essential for printing text. Find an option to print in black-and-white. It may be under a 'Colors' tab or under the 'Graphics' tab.
5. Print directly. Most systems use a print spool so that your application isn't tied up during printing. You can disable this in your printer properties by going to the 'Details' or 'Spool' tab and selecting the 'Print Directly to Printer' option.
6. Buy more memory. Some printers can be upgraded. Just like you can buy more RAM for your computer, you can expand the memory of your printer. Check your printer's manual to see if this is possible.
