1. Unpack the contents of the printer box and make sure you have the installation CD, the power cord, ink, a manual and a USB cable.
2. Plug in the power cord and start the printer. Your HP C4385 will provide installation prompts to guide you through the rest of the process, so watch the touchscreen for directions.
3. Unwrap the print cartridges and remove the protective tape. Insert them when prompted by the touchscreen by snapping them into the cartridge holders in the printer.
4. Load paper into the paper cartridge so the printer can make a copy of the alignment page. The alignment page comes with your installation kit, and a drawing showing how to make the copy is provided in your 'Quick Start' guide.
5. Connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable (this is only temporary to configure the printer). Then, insert the installation CD in your computer.
6. Follow the installation wizard to enter your wireless network's security passwords. Once the passwords are accepted, you can unplug the USB cable.
7. Install the software from the installation CD onto any other computers that will print to the HP C4385. Make test prints from each computer once the software has been installed.
